Brotherhood Breakfast with Acting Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins

10:00 AM - 11:30 AMActing Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins has been Deputy County Executive for 7 years but will be elevated to the top job when George Latimer resigns on January 2 to become a new Member of Congress. Our Sunday Breakfast will be one of Ken Jenkins' first public events upon assuming leadership of county government. Ken will be the first African American to head-up the County. He looks forward to meeting Temple Israel members, answering your questions and talking with you about his vision for Westchester's future.
More About Ken Jenkins
Prior to his years as Deputy and effective January 3rd , as Acting County Executive, Ken Jenkins also served 4 terms on the County Board of Legislators representing Yonkers, including service as Chairman of the Board from 2010-13. In county government he has fought to keep child care affordable, worked to increase tax relief, protect a woman’s right to choose and preserve our environment. He also played a major role in the County’s battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ken was President for over five years of the Yonkers Branch of the NAACP, served as President of the Yonkers Community Action Program and was President/CEO of the Yonkers Industrial Development Association, the mandate of which is economic development, jobs and affordable housing.

Our goal is to bring joy into the lives of the elderly by creating floral arrangements which are distributed to local nursing homes and to build community among volunteers through this process. -
