Brotherhood Membership
Why join Brotherhood?
Temple Israel Brotherhood builds Community!
The more active members we have, the more the Brotherhood can do for the Temple. Find out how satisfying it is to participate and connect with members of your Temple Israel Brotherhood!
Midnight Runs
Caravans into NYC to help our greater community by bringing clothing, food and conversation to homeless men and women-- this is the premier, ongoing Mitzvah project of the Temple.
Charity & Fundraising
Brotherhood takes great pride in supporting Temple Israel as well as our regional community. We’ve always been generous to our Center for Jewish Learning (CJL), Temple Choir, Caring Committee, Discretionary Funds for Rabbi and Cantor, and the Yom HaShoah Candle Program. Every year we also contribute to the Temple's annual Hanukkah-thon and the annual Spring Fundraiser. But our efforts over the years throw a wider net by also supporting Feeding Westchester, the Fuller Center for Housing (formerly Habitat for Humanity), Hillel, Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill (CHHOP), and as far away as Jewish Renewal in Poland/Beit Polska.
Sunday Breakfasts
If you haven’t been to one yet, you’re missing something special. Not only is the food great, but our guest speakers present unique social perspectives on a variety of topics...& cooking with the guys in the kitchen is a blast!
Softball
Our Tree Of Life Softball Team shows off their athletic skills all summer long.
Lectures
Our evening lectures are intellectually stimulating, funny, and simply enjoyable- and free!
Ushering
Without the Brotherhood, parking for the High Holy Days would be even more interesting than it already is!
Building Community
From erecting the Sukkah and cooking for the Temple family, to our annual Comedy Night, annual summer BBQ and more-- the Brotherhood knows how to party!
The Bottom Line--We are men of the Temple spanning many decades in age with one great mission…we not only care about our Temple but we care deeply for each other.
