Adult B'nai Mitzvah
exploring jewish life
One of the most inspiring and moving Jewish experiences invariably occurs when you participate in the adult B'nai Mitzvah class. Adults with various backgrounds and life experiences participate in the Adult B'nai class for different reasons:
- To learn to read the Hebrew text of our liturgy
- To study, in depth, the significance of this milestone
- To learn along with or ahead of a child who will be embarking on this process
The class is lead by Rabbi Jaech, and meets every other week. In the class you will learn to read Hebrew and study the background, historical context, and spiritual elements of the B’Nai Mitzvah experience.
For those re-exploring or exploring their Jewish roots and place in Jewish life for the first time, this is a wonderful enhancement to your journey. Participants who have elected to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah conclude the course by leading a special Shabbat Service. This service, which occurs in June, is always a most moving and memorable occasion.
