In this lecture we will explore the stories behind two iconic Israeli songs written by the same lyricist - Ehud Manor. The songs are both a personal statement and a comment on his feelings and relationship with Israel as a country and his homeland. We will learn about the historical moments and context in which both songs were written, the performers and performances that gave both songs several moments of cultural importance, and enjoy a live performance of both songs featuring Cantor Hayley Kobilinsky accompanied by Oren Neiman, CJL teacher and professional musician, on guitar.
